President Message
The partnership with Bristol Community College is still
being ironed out, but I believe there will be CPIM and CSCP courses
offered in the fall. More on this as it unfolds...
Programs - Dan Marino was unable to present "Right Size Your Lean
Program" on May 7th (Hopefully we will be able to get him to present in
September) but one of our new board members, John Moore, stepped up and
did a presentation on The Real Leadership Challenge - Getting &
Maintaining Peak Performance which was very well received. Thanks John!
And our June event is less than 2 weeks away! This is our Top
Management event, which means any APICS member can bring a supervisor or
manager for free! The program will be Officer Installation and then we
will have a representative from Dale Carnegie speaking on how to
“Disagree Agreeably”. We have also instituted Pay Pal for those of you
who want to pay by credit card. For this test run the Pay Pal price
will be the same as the cash price, but in the future that could
change. When you sign up, either by e-mail or on the web site, please
include the manager's name and just put FREE before the name.
Education - The Execution and Control of Operations module will be
held at Covidien (Tyco Healthcare) in Mansfield in the fall. E-mail me
if you are interested, dlpaton@comcast. And as always, we are looking
for the next host site for CPIM modules, CSCP or Fundamentals. If your
company is interested, e-mail me and we can work out the details.
And finally the board for the new season has been chosen. The list to
the left is the new board for 2008-2009. Along with Dr. Forker and
Daryl Simmons, John Moore has volunteered to serve on the board this
year. Dave Blanchard has decided to step down to spend more time with
his family, and to give others the opportunity to serve as well. We are
always looking for members to assist in different projects throughout
the year, and we still have a position or 2 open that we could use help
filling. Feel free to contact any board member if you have any
questions.
Hope to see you on the 18th!
Have a great summer!
