award winning national home builder to identify a Purchasing Director
for their New England operation.

Supply Chain Manager
Stable, growing medical device company has immediate need!
Overview
This position manages the supply chain, from suppliers to customers, and
strives to deliver the right product at the right time, at the least
total supply chain cost. The incumbent manages the following functions:
Sales Forecasting, Master Planning, Production Planning, Purchasing,
Cycle Counting, Logistics and Distribution. In addition, this position
is responsible for Inventory and Order Fulfillment Performance.
Responsibilities
Monitor production vs. plan, inventory levels (days on hand), customer
service levels, capacity utilization, forecast accuracy, on-time
delivery, purchase price variance and other key performance metrics and
take appropriate action when necessary to meet objectives;
Develop strategies and efficient plans to utilize production
capabilities, while satisfying demands and minimizing total supply chain
costs;
Manage the Sales Forecasting process to minimize demand variability and
ensure production and financial forecasts are aligned;
Develop a Master Plan to balance supply and demand and raise issues in a
timely manner to ensure forecasted demand can be fulfilled cost
effectively and that capacity is being properly utilized;
Lead Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Meetings and raise supply and
demand issues and opportunities;
Plan and purchase materials to ensure availability in order to satisfy
demand while controlling costs and minimizing investment;
Accountable for purchase price activities (i.e. sourcing, quotations,
negotiations, terms of sale, carrier selection, payment terms, mode of
transportation, supply agreements, purchase orders, etc.) to maximize
the value of goods and services procured and minimize potential
liabilities;
Develop strategies to maximize customer service when supply disruptions
or shortages are anticipated (i.e. substitute materials, alternate
methods, new sources, rationing, allocations, etc.);
Analyze make vs. buy options to ensure in-house production costs are
competitive to the market;
Develop inventory strategies for new product launches to ensure product
availability, prevent stock-outs and to minimize excess and obsolete
inventories;
Ensure planning and purchasing ERP parameters (i.e. lead-time, order
policy codes, yield factors, safety stocks, routers, effective dates,
etc.) are complete and accurate;
Determine what materials need to be delivered and when in order to
achieve desired customer service levels, while minimizing inventory
investment and total supply chain costs;
Minimize surplus and obsolete inventories and manage product phase-outs
to minimize shortages and financial liabilities;
Build/maintain strong relationships throughout the supply chain, from
suppliers to customers, and negotiate, implement and maintain supply
contracts when deemed necessary;
Develop and redesign business processes which will improve overall
supply chain performance;
Financially responsible for departmental budgets, material standard
costs and inventory forecasts, while ensuring performance to budget;
Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company
regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and
Environmental compliance.
Requirements
BS degree required, MBA and CPM/APICS certifications desired and 8+
years experience managing supply chain within FDA regulated, Lean
manufacturing environment;
Requires strong experience in the areas of project planning, strategic
global sourcing, sales forecasting, master planning, production
planning, cycle counting, logistics, inventory management and
distribution;
Must be proficient with ERP system (BPCS), Sales Forecasting
applications, and MS Office. Experience with Crystal Reporting desired;
Must have proven ability to analyze/plan manufacturing and supplier
activity to meet customer requirements, while minimizing inventory
investment and total supply chain costs;
Requires strong negotiation, presentation and diplomacy skills, with the
ability to make trade-off decisions in a timely manner based upon facts,
weighing the options and understanding the impact of decisions;
Strong knowledge of supply chain drivers that affect financial
performance (i.e. lead-times, inventory drivers, transportation costs,
material and production cost drivers, etc.);
Knowledge of various materials replenishment techniques (i.e. MTS, MTO,

Requires ability to work effectively within a team environment while

Newly created position; reports to the Vice President of Manufacturing.
This manager is responsible for directing and implementing all aspects
of import/export operations, working with both domestic and foreign

shipping department. This manager is responsible for budget management,

The goal of this position is to manage the leaning of the Inventory
management processes at all sites with a goal of reducing inventories to
a manageable and profitable level while improving on time delivery to
our customers.
Responsibilities to Include:
This position requires the effective use of business process knowledge
and experience to effectively decide if the solution is process or
system. By changing configuration settings in most major ERP systems one
can modify how the system behaves to better support the changing
business requirements. This position would perform these configuration
changes when required.
A learning business is constantly looking for ways to become more
efficient in how it uses information to solve business problems. The
Business Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization
at all sites with better access to information to enable informed
decision making. To that end, this position designs reporting solutions
and writes functional specifications to provide better data visibility
to the organization. Works with IT to develop and test all solutions.
Reviews system data to troubleshoot "problems" with the system to
determine if the problem is in the data or is exposing the need for
additional coaching or mentoring. Within complex ERP systems there are
many data elements that determine how the system behaves (e.g. lead
times, lot sizing, MRP type). Oftentimes when a user is not obtaining
the expected results from a transaction it is because the underlying
"foundation" data is not properly set up and can lead to poor decision
making or simply user frustration. This position would troubleshoot
these issues to get to the root causes and corrective action of user
reported problems. Sometimes the solution to a business problem is in
the process analysis and improvement and sometimes it's a software
solution.
Education:
BS in Business or Systems or equivalent
Position Requirements:
Working knowledge of one or more SAP modules (or other major ERP System)
in an Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing environment with specific
focus in the areas of Procurement.
APICS certification or study is desirable.

Responsibilities
*International & Domestic:
Administration of ocean and domestic inland freight transportation to
support activities of the Company’s Product Export business;
Coordinate the daily activities of a supplier base that best delivers
freight services to all Company offices;
Ensure service contracts and spot rates are consistent with rated BL’s and
approve all freight related invoices;
Communicate to Company offices on conditions relating to freight market;
Work with various third-party logistics providers (i.e. warehouses,

Key Tasks
*International:
Obtain transportation rates/services to support trading activities. Work
with Sales admin personnel to resolve any operational issues or requests
related to any shipments (i.e. resolving free time issues and any other
responsibilities outlined in specific incoterms);
Provide quarterly insurance activity logs to reconcile insurance
activities. Review Loss Run history and ensure/communicate preventative
measures;
Run weekly Booking activity report and review with Sales admin. Compare
booking activity with order book to ensure all orders have freight
services to meet order deadlines. Conduct cost reconciliations on
freight related invoices;
Maintain rate matrix and service contracts of transportation providers.
Ensure spot rates are included. Review with carrier base on frequent
basis to determine opportunities and validate rate levels;
Conduct weekly communication with key carriers and other logistics service
providers to determine market intelligence that benefits Company;
Review service offerings on major trade lanes and determine if
alternatives/better options exist. Provide Sales group key information
on freight related topics that assist in their economic decision making
(i.e. shipment mode, routing/port options). Respond to ad hoc requests.
*Domestic:
Dispatch/manage inland transportation for lumber department, negotiate
inland transportation rates with flatbed carriers, and obtain rail
freight rates;
Set up inland transportation carrier networks for lumber and set up SOP’s
for specific recurring businesses (i.e. important programs);
Coordinate Customs Broker contacts and monitor performance across various
entry ports.
Requirements
BS degree is preferred, and 3+ years of relevant ocean and inland freight
environment experience is required;
Must have PC proficiency (Word, Excel, Access) and the ability to
multi-task and respond effectively to customer inquiries.

capital equipment portfolio. Ensure that all supplies of goods/services

Responsibilities

issues, financial principles and marketplace relating to capital

Must have PC proficiency (MS Office suite) and full understanding of
purchasing/inventory systems (JD Edwards), interfaces with Finance,
